Friendly Visits
Loneliness is one of the biggest problems older adults face. They have a wealth of knowledge and memories and no one to share them with. Friendly visiting volunteers who stop by for a chat can really brighten their day.
This is a great way for someone with a busy schedule to help someone in the community. Volunteers can as visit for as little as one or two hours per month, and visiting can be fit in around other activities. Many seniors welcome visits from parents and children as well.
As one volunteers says:
"Volunteering is already having a positive impact on my 2 1/2 year-old. She will grow to understand the importance of helping others."
And as one clients says:
"I never had children and I really love having them visit. I can't tell you how happy I am to see them!"
