Transportation to Wellness |

| Transportation is
one of the most frequently requested services for older, adults.
Individuals living within Senior Services of Northern Kentucky's
eight county service area can call to make reservations for medical
appointments, chemotherapy, and dialysis. Family members appreciate
this service because they do not always have to take time off
from their own jobs in order to get a loved one back and forth
to a medical appointment. The service area includes Boone, Campbell,
Carroll, Gallatin, Grant, Owen and Pendleton counties. Clients
are served on a first come first served basis meeting the resources
available to SSNK. Escort services can be arranged for individuals who need someone to remain with them throughout a scheduled medical appointment. Transportation for grocery shopping is also available from a select number of inner city senior complexes throughout our service area. Currently some (but not all) senior centers have transportation vehicles available. These vans are used to transport older adults to the senior centers for noontime meals, social outings and for the delivery of Meals-on-Wheels in some areas. For more information about transportation services call 859/292-7945 or e-mail bbrewer@seniorservicesnky.org

Get Involved!!!! Volunteers are always welcome to help deliver these meals. A few hours of your time could make all the difference in the world to a frail, homebound elderly individual. Sometimes our staff member or volunteer might be the only contact the older adult has with the outside world on a daily basis. Call 859/491-0522 for additional information or e-mail Sonya Turner |
