Volunteering with Senior Services of Northern Kentucky does not require a huge time commitment. In fact, most of our volunteer opportunities are very flexible, designed to fit busy schedules. We have one-time projects for families, groups and individuals; "on-call" opportunities, and many ways to help older adults in the community by giving only a few hours per month. [..MORE] |

Animeals on Wheels
To ensure that older residents in Boone, Kenton, Campbell & Grant counties can enjoy the companionship of their pets without sacrificing their nutritional needs Senior Services of Northern Kentucky began the Animeals on Wheels program which provides donated pet food to pet companions in the Northern Kentucky Community.
"Many of our clients benefit from having a pet in their home but struggle to find the funds to purchase pet food and supplies," said Barbara Gunn, president/CEO of Senior Services. "Without assistance, our low-income elderly pet owners are carving portions from their meals to share with their pets."
Each month our volunteers will deliver pet supplies to Meals on Wheels recipients at no cost to them. In doing so this not only provides personal contact for our seniors but also maintains that the seniors nutritional needs are not being sacrificed for their beloved pet..
To find out more about how to donate pet food, or to become a volunteer please call 859-491-0522.

Where to go, who to call, how to get started?
Our staff will answer questions on any topic of concern to you. If you need help getting through the maze of services and programs for older adults, our Outreach and Protection staff can help. From filling out forms to linking seniors and their caregivers with needed services, we're here to help. Although our services are for those 60 and older, information and assistance calls may come from individuals or family under age 60. If you need help, please call 859-491-0522 or 1-800-255-7265.
We welcome the opportunity to speak with businesses or groups and organizations about issues affecting older adults and their caregivers. In addition, the Caregivers Resource Library lends videos, audio tapes and books to seniors and anyone caring for an older adult. A caregivers support group meets monthly.
