We serve as professional intermediaries for those who may
experience difficulty speaking or acting for themselves.
The Ombudsman Program is the agency charged with serving as
advocates for persons living in long-term care (LTC) facilities. Through a
network of State, regional, district and volunteer ombudsmen, we seek to
achieve this resolution through mediation, negotiation, referral to
enforcement agencies, and training of caregivers.
As LTC Ombudsmen we have 4 specific responsibilities:
~~To receive, investigate and resolve complaints made by or
on behalf of older persons who are residents of LT facilities;
~~ To act as advocates for residents of LTC facilities;
~~ To review and comment on Legislation (Federal, State and
local) affecting the elderly; and
~~To publicize the existence of the Ombudsman Program.
Senior Services of Northern Kentucky's Ombudsman Program has
a golden opportunity for individuals who qualify. If you are interested in
becoming a volunteer resident representative, a volunteer certified
ombudsman, a volunteer advisory council member then we have a very unique
offer for you.
