Donate to Senior Services of Northern Kentucky

Letter from the President/CEO

We are facing a dramatic change in the next few decades that will greatly affect every aspect of our society. The number of adults 60+ is growing rapidly and is expected to double in the next 15 years. By 2025, 21 percent of Kentuckians will be able to claim the title "senior citizen."

With the growing senior population comes a growing need for Senior Services of Northern Kentucky's programs. Unfortunately, current resources are not sufficient to meet the demand. Facing this challenge, we adopted a strategic plan in FY 2006 that will help us to strengthen our capacity to deliver quality services for the increasing number of older adults in our region.

In addition to the challenges ahead, we anticipate opportunities to expand our services and develop strategic alliances. Community partnerships will be even more crucial as we pursue our mission to support the independence and dignity of adults.

With the support of our dedicated board members, staff, volunteers, government leaders, foundations, corporate partners and generous donors, we will continue to reach out to our older neighbors in need. Thanks you for helping us with this crucial mission.

Sincerely,

President/CEO
Barbara Gunn

Planned Giving - When we pass on, our primary concern is going to be our family’s well being.  We want to make sure that whatever we leave behind for them is enough for them to make it through.  But what about the causes and organizations that are closest to your heart?

Senior Services of Northern Kentucky offers Planned Giving as a way to guarantee that your money goes toward a worthy cause.  This can all be done through your will and you will need to consult an attorney or financial advisor that can help ensure that it is done properly.  These donations can be made through a percentage of your overall estate, real estate, a portion of your residue or even a specific amount of money that is to go to an organization.  Some other options include:

Gift Annuities: You can set a specific amount of money that is to be donated per year for a set amount of years.

Pooled Income Fund:  Many charities have a plan where donors can contribute to the pooled income fund and retain their income for life.

Life Estate Agreement:  You can transfer the title from a property that you own to your organization of choice all while still living there and using the property.

Charitable Lead Trust:  You create a trust to provide income to the organization of your choice for a set period of time that you determine.

Revocable Trust:  Through this revocable living trust, you can provide eventual gifts of real estate, cash or other property, yet the property can be returned to you at your discretion

Charitable Remainder Annuity Trust or Charitable Remainder Unitrust:  These plans are designed to provide income to an organization based solely on the value of the property.  This irrevocable trust provides income based on the value of the property at the time that the trust was created.

You can request these services from your attorney or financial advisors.  These are merely options that you have and you may want to ask your financial advisor what other options may be available to make certain your money is distributed wisely.
